RENEGADE MOUNTAIN QUADRUPLE MURDER CO-DEFENDANT SENTENCED IN PLEA-DEAL

Wednesday, the book closed on what has been the most long-awaited court outcome in years in Cumberland County as the co-defendant in the Renegade Quadruple Murder case pleaded guilty in court and was sentenced. According to the Crossville Chronicle, Brittany Yvonn Moser, former girlfriend of Jacob Allen Bennett, the actual killer of the three teens and a young woman, stood before the victim’s family members and pleaded guilty to one count of facilitation of second degree murder. For her role in the crime, the 27-year-old received 10 years in prison to be served at 30 percent. Moser has been behind bars since her arrest in September 2013. Bennett, who was sentenced last June and received four life sentences without parole for the murders, shot and killed 22-year-old Rikki Jacobson, 17-year-old Dominic Davis, 17-year-old Steven Presley and 16-year-old Jonathan Lajeunesse while they were sitting in a vehicle parked along a side road on Renegade Mountain. During the plea hearing, Moser said that she traded for a Glock handgun at a pawnshop and gave it to Bennett who was to meet the four, to in Moser’s words, “rob them of some drugs.” She told investigators that while Bennett met and subsequently killed the victims, she sat in the car and heard the shots. She then drove to where Bennett was and picked him up. Moser’s attorney Kevin Bryant said that some of the victim’s family members were “understanding” of the plea deal, but that others were “adamantly” against it.
