(DEVELOPING STORY) – Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced today his first steps of Tennessee’s economy reboot in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Restaurants in the state will start off opening at 50 percent capacity Monday (April 27, 2020) and retail stores, also at 50 percent capacity, will reopen Wednesday (April 29, 2020).
Governor Lee added businesses would implement a “wide array of safety measures that will include temperature checks, masks and social distancing.”
Businesses in Knoxville and Nashville may have differing reopening dates and processes; however, Knox County and Knoxville officials have not revealed details on the reopening process yet.
The governor didn’t provide many more details regarding the phases during today’s COVID-19 briefing. He will hold a special press briefing tomorrow morning to explain his multi-phased economy reboot.
