RICHARD ANDERSON, OF THE $6 MILLION DOLLAR MAN, DEAD AT AGE 91
The entertainment industry lost an old friend Thursday, as Richard Anderson, better known as “Oscar Goldman” on the Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman TV series, died. He was 91. Anderson starred in a host of movies and appeared throughout the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s on television. One of his first acting jobs was in the MGM sci-fi classic “Forbidden Planet.” He then went on to star in such great television fare as The Twilight Zone, Gunsmoke, and The Rifleman. His first continuing character on a TV series was that of Lt. Drum on the original Perry Mason. It was in the early 70’s that Anderson created the classic character of Goldman along with Lee Majors. He was famous for the opening line in the series, “Gentlemen, we can rebuild him…” The Oscar Goldman character was also given the distinction of appearing on the two bionic TV series simultaneously. Anderson is survived by three daughters.
