ROANE CO. COMMISSIONER USES RUBBER CHICKEN IN MEETING TO MAKE POINT

The county attorney that serves the Roane County Commission says Commissioner Junior Hendrickson did not violate any rules when Hendrickson displayed a rubber chicken at a recent meeting to make a point. He used the prop during a discussion regarding a resolution for borrowing money for the expansion of the jail and renovation of schools in Oliver Springs. Hendrickson held up the featherless rubber chicken, that he said represented the taxpayers, and said “when are we going to quick plucking this chicken?” The Roane County Commission and Roane County Board of Education is planning a combined meeting to further discuss the school project.
