Roane County authorities gave an update today on a body discovered near an overpass bridge on Highway 70 in Rockwood late Sunday night. Sheriff Jack Stockton says the Caucasian male was found in the creek a couple of hundred yards down from the bridge. The deceased was found by two subjects who immediately called an off duty deputy they knew. Sheriff Stockton added the body had some decomposition and had possibly been there for a while. Authorities are still awaiting a positive identification on the male.
