ROANE COUNTY DEPUTIES ENCOUNTER GROWLING INEBRIATED WOMAN ON PORCH SWING

Just after midnight today, a Roane County sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a Hart Orchard Road home in Kingston for a woman said to be “wigging out.”

The deputy found 31-year-old Megan Nicole Gregg in a porch swing at the front of the house, growling at him as he stepped onto the porch. The homeowner said she’d been there for a few hours, acting crazy and causing a disturbance. He showed the deputy a video of her growling at him and jumping up and down and beating on the front door.

According to the arrest report, when the deputy attempted to speak to her, she refused to say anything, except growl. She also was said to have an odor of an alcoholic beverage on and about

her person and refused to cooperate with attempts to administer field-sobriety tests.

Gregg was arrested for public intoxication; and it was only when she was being walked to the patrol car that she started speaking; the deputy noted her speech was slurred and she was so unstable on her feet, he had to assist her to the car.

Inside her backpack retrieved from the porch was a three-quarters-empty bottle of vodka.
