Rockwood police, Rockwood fire department officials, and an ambulance were dispatched to the lower section of Tarwater Road in Rockwood just before noon today, at its intersection with Hathburn Drive. A pickup truck slammed into a parked car and then into a house.

Rockwood Police reported that the driver of the pickup truck, David Flynn of Rockwood, told officers that his brakes failed as he was exiting Hathburn Drive onto Tarwater Road. He lost control of the vehicle, entered the driveway of the Smith residence, collided with the parked car—totaling it—and then drove into the front of the home.

Flynn was transported to RMC for evaluation. No one inside the home was injured. The parked car, which was sitting in the driveway, was totaled in the collision. Police noted that the car had recently been paid off.
