WOMAN ARRESTED FOR DUI AT RIDGEVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AS STUDENTS WERE DISMISSING

An incident occurred at Ridgeview Elementary School on Wednesday afternoon, just as students were getting ready to leave. A female driver was arrested for allegedly being intoxicated in her car.

A post from Ridgeview Elementary on Facebook informed parents that the buses would be leaving about 15 minutes later than normal. The message was intended to prevent anxiety if the buses did not arrive on time, though no specific details were provided at the time.

According to Rockwood Police, the female driver, identified as Kamisha Hudson, was operating a vehicle while allegedly impaired. She was taken into custody by the school resource officer with assistance from Rockwood police officers. Hudson was transported to the Roane County Jail, where she was booked on charges of DUI, violation of the implied consent law, and resisting arrest. She reportedly posted bond and was released from jail earlier today.

No students or staff were injured during the incident, which took place around 3:15 p.m. as school was letting out. Hudson had apparently arrived at the school to pick up a child when someone noticed signs of intoxication and alerted school authorities, prompting the police response and her subsequent arrest.
