Voters across the region have a double opportunity to engage with local and state candidates tonight, Thursday, October 8, as two separate political forums kick off at 6:00 p.m.

In Rockwood, the Rockwood 2000 organization is hosting a candidate forum at Rockwood City Hall. The event features contenders running for open seats on the Rockwood City Council and the 32nd District Tennessee House of Representatives seat. Rockwood Mayor Jason Jolly, running unopposed in November, is also scheduled to attend and field questions from residents.

Meanwhile, just up the road, the Cumberland County Playhouse will host a candidate forum for the Crossville City Council races. The lineup includes candidates running for a 4-year term (Robbie Poore, Mike Turner, and Greg Wood) as well as a 2-year unexpired term (Danny Wyatt, Kris Cole, Melinda Kelsey, and Lou Morrison).

Both events will feature public question-and-answer sessions, giving residents a vital chance to hear directly from platforms before heading to the polls in November.
