SECOND HARVEST RECEIVES $32,000 GRANT FROM MORGAN STANLEY FOUNDATION TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD HUNGER

Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee has been awarded a $32,000 grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation to bolster its fight against childhood hunger. The funding will directly support the organization’s School Pantry program, which partners with local schools to host on-site grocery distributions.

Through this program, students and their families can select nutritious food to bring home once a month, year-round. This initiative aims to bridge the gap for families facing food insecurity by providing reliable, consistent access to healthy groceries.

“Support from this grant will go toward the School Pantry program, where Second Harvest partners with local schools to provide groceries through on-site school food distributions.”

Second Harvest of East Tennessee is one of just 33 Feeding America partner food banks selected nationwide to receive this funding. The grant is part of the Morgan Stanley Foundation’s long-standing commitment to improving children’s health and well-being across the country.
