SETTLEMENT REACHED REGARDING DOCKS OF CANEY CREEK

A settlement appears to be reached in a Roane County case. It is against the bonding company who represented a now bankrupt company who developed the Docks of Caney Creek subdivision on Caney Creek Road. County Attorney Greg Leffew told the Roane County Commission last night that the settlement offer amount was $175,000 from Lexcom Insurance Company. The motion was made, received a second and approved by all members of the commission to accept the settlement. Only a handful of homes are built in the undeveloped subdivision. Now work to fix some areas inside the development can move forward as far as what the county can do in that subdivision, primarily maintaining the roads.
