SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE IN AREA LATE AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT
The National Weather Service says there is a marginal risk of severe weather today for much of the area.
Currently, models show a line of storms will move into Middle Tennessee this afternoon, crossing through the area. Storms are expected to hit in Middle Tennessee mid-afternoon before pushing into the 1057 News listening area late this afternoon into tonight.
Areas likely to be impacted at this time are west of I-65 and along I-40. Main threats will be heavy rain, damaging wind gusts and a potential spin-up tornado cannot be ruled out.
Already this morning, Shelby County (Memphis) has three tornado warnings at the same time. As of 7:30 a.m. central time, west Tennessee remains under a tornado watch with the line pushing east.
Stay tuned to 105.7 The Hog for updates from Steve Norris for any possible watches or warnings issued in the area later today.
