“SHELTER IN PLACE” ORDER GIVEN TO EMPLOYEES OF CHEMICAL PLANT
Bradley County officials say Wacker employees were told to shelter in place yesterday (Tuesday, September 12, 2017) when the plant was manually clearing out pipes. The cleaning following last week’s chemical explosion that sent a firefighter to the hospital. Officials said there was no threat to the public yesterday. The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office said last week’s incident was caused by a mechanical failure that triggered a plume of low-concentrated hydrochloric acid.
