According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a sinkhole developed on Peavine Road between Peavine Firetower Road and Stone Loop just before 6 pm this evening (Thursday, June 22, 2017) Traffic is being detoured around the affected area but at this time (10:35 pm) Peavine Road remains closed. TDOT does not have a re-opening time for the road as wet conditions will persist with the approaching remains of Tropical Storm Cindy. TDOT is on the scene now working to correct the problem.
