Around 2:30 this afternoon (Thursday, June 22, 2017), Harriman Fire and as well as other fire departments, responded to Cracker Barrel on Highway 27 near Interstate 40. According to restaurant manager George Treadway, the fire was in the grill area. The fire prevention system worked properly putting out the fire but in the process a dry chemical was sprayed to put out the flames. As a process, the entire area had to be cleaned before it could be used again. Treadway said the restaurant will re-open tomorrow morning (Friday, June 23, 2017). No one was reported injured.
