SOME SCHOOLS AND GOVERNMENT OFFICES CLOSING FOR SOLAR ECLIPSE
It is over one month away but already some school systems and governmental offices announced they will be closed for the August 21, 2017 solar eclipse. Metro Nashville schools as well as Sumner and Montgomery County schools will be closed that day. Sumner and Montgomery County government offices will also be closed. In the area, Overton County governmental offices will be closed but Fentress County government offices will be open. Also opened August 21 will be Fentress County schools that is planning to allow students see the two-minute event.
We want to stress that only the government and school entities named in this story have decided to either be open or closed August 21, 2017 for the solar eclipse. No other school systems or governmental agencies in the area have made a decision either way as of the publishing of this story (Wednesday, July 5, 2017)
