SPEED LIMIT LOWERED ON CUMBERLAND LAKES DRIVE
The Cumberland County Commission last night entertained a request from residents on Cumberland Lakes Drive to lower the speed limit. This road is off of Highway 62 near the Cumberland/Putnam County line. The resolution states the current maximum speed of 55 may be unsafe because of multiple curves, lack of shoulders and many driveway openings. The sheriff’s department and road superintendent recommended lowering the limit to 30 miles an hour. The commission unanimously approved the petition.
