STUDENTS ATTEND CUMBERLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S YOUTH ACADEMY
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is presently hosting its annual sheriff’s youth academy for elementary students. This year’s class of elementary students is the largest so far with over 80 kids. The program is designed to provide insight into the everyday functions and training of local law-enforcement agencies and emergency services. Middle school students can attend the academy from June 25 through 30 and high school students can attend from July 9 through 13. The cost is $25 per student, but grants are available for any student who wishes to attend but needs financial assistance. Participants must be able to complete physical training, including a qualifying obstacle course. Applications may be requested by emailing [email protected] or may be picked up at the sheriff’s office.
