TENNESSEE CONTINUES TO SEE UNEMPLOYMENT DROP IN JULY
Amid historic lows in statewide unemployment figures, forty of Tennessee’s 95 counties showed a marked decrease compared to June 2017. The state’s July unemployment rate was at 3.4 percent, down from 3.6 percent in the previous month. Cumberland County’s unemployment rate for July was down at 4.7 percent while Roane County’s rate held steady at 4.8 percent for the second month in a row. Davidson County posted the lowest unemployment at 3.1 percent while Weakley County was the highest at 7.4 percent.
