Tennessee Electoral College Members To Vote Monday
Tennessee electoral college members are set to cast their ballots for President-elect Donald Trump Monday. Secretary of State’s office spokesman Adam Ghassemi said Tennessee is a “winner take all” state, meaning all 11 electors were chosen by the Tennessee Republican Party. Ghassemi said under state law, the electors are bound to vote for the candidate from the political party that selected them. The Tennessee Republican Party’s candidate for the presidency is President-elect Donald Trump, Ghassemi said. Tennessee’s 11 electoral votes will be cast at 9 a.m. Monday at the state capitol.
Tennessee has 11 electoral votes, one for each of the state’s nine congressional districts and two “at large” electors. Reports have been widely circulated of electors from other states asking for additional information or for the intervention of a judge before casting their ballot.
