STEVE NORRIS WEATHER – WARMER THIS WEEK

Overnight the low temperatures will be around the low 20s with mostly cloudy skies. Monday we will see temperatures around 38 to 40 degrees with a mix of clouds and sun. Partly sunny and warmer on Tuesday with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 40s. Wednesday we’ll see temperatures in the low 50s. Looking on down the road to next weekend, I am expecting scattered showers for Christmas Day with temperatures in the low 50s. Heavy rain and strong winds affected many areas overnight Sunday night With portions Overton and Pickett counties receiving two and a half inches of rain. Around two inches of rain fell in Putnam County, and inch and a half near Jamestown in Fentress County and near one inch in parts of Cumberland County. Also strong wind accompanied the rain and storms with Gusts of 40 to 50 miles per hour in portions of Cumberland, Overton, Jackson and Pickett counties.
