TODDLER DROWNS IN BABYSITTER’S POOL, TWIN REMAINS ON LIFE SUPPORT
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, a nearly two-year-old West Knoxville girl drowned in her babysitter’s swimming pool this morning – and her twin brother remains on life support at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
Around 10:15 Eastern time, Rural Metro Fire said, first responders were called to a home on the 8000 block of Fox Lonas Road; unidentified adults at the scene pulled the children from the pool and had begun CPR prior to the arrival of medical personnel.
Reports say the babysitter said another child arrived at the home around 10 a.m., which is when she noticed the twins were missing. The children were found in the deep end of the pool.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the State Department of Children’s Services are investigating.
