At this minute (4:45 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020), Cumberland County firefighters and medics are on the scene of a tractor-trailer accident at the 335 mile marker westbound on I-40. The driver of the tractor-trailer is not injured. The interstate will be shut down at the scene for WESTBOUND traffic ONLY until it can be cleared or one lane can be opened. Estimated time of clearing is scheduled to be done by 5 p.m.!

DETOUR ROUTE – Motorists heading westbound can get off at the Westel Exit (Exit 338) turn left and travel until Westel Road dead ends on Highway 70. Turn right and use extreme caution heading towards Crab Orchard. There motorists can resume on I-40.
