(Tuesday, May 18, 2021) – TDOT continues to work on a bridge project at the 328 mile marker eastbound on I-40. Traffic is down to one lane at the site. This is causing traffic backups for a few miles. Motorists are encouraged to wait and you will slowly make your way out of the work zone. Taking Highway 70 East from the Peavine Road exit east to Crab Orchard to detour the work zone could be done but is not recommended as the road under the bridge is also one lane creating a backup. This is an ongoing project for the next month or two. Drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution in this area.
