TROOPERS RESPOND TO MULTI-VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE 40
Three drivers escaped injury in a multi-vehicle collision around 6 p.m. last night on I-40 in Cumberland County. Troopers state a Lincoln Continental driven by 30-year-old Jeff Bennington of Greenville, Tennessee, a Fleetwood motorhome operated by 73-year-old Walter Davis of Johnson City and a Freightliner tractor-trailer controlled by 52-year-old Timothy Landereth of Stoneville, North Carolina, were all traveling west at the 324 mile marker. Traffic slowed for a previous crash ahead and a chain reaction accident took place. All three motorists were restrained. Both westbound lanes were blocked for inside of an hour as a result as the scene was investigated and cleared.
