TWO ARRESTED AFTER SHOTS FIRED ON SULLIVAN DRIVE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
Cumberland County deputies responded to a home on the 400 block of Sullivan Drive Monday after shots were fired. The arrest report states a verbal altercation led to 19-year-old Chase Michael Welch of Crossville allegedly grabbing at AR-15, walked to a wood line close to the home with several inside and started shooting. Officers say 22-year-old William Keith Hayes of Crossville grabbed a 9mm handgun and fired one round into the ground to let Welch know he was armed as well. Hayes told officers he walked back towards the door when Welch reportedly fired fire rounds towards him. Officers noted several gunshot holes in the side door of the residence and one in a wood paneling outside. Welch was arrested on six counts of reckless endangerment (because of four people inside the home and two outside) and one count of aggravated assault. Hayes was also taken into custody for aggravated assault.
