TWO ARRESTED EARLY FRIDAY – ONE FOR METH, ONE FOR DRIVING ON REVOKED LICENSE
Responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Donna Lane early Friday, Cumberland County deputies found two people passed out in a car in the middle of the road.
The passenger (and owner of the vehicle), 45-year-old Ladonna Michelle Edwards of Crossville – who admitted to being on probation for possession of meth – appeared nervous when awakened by deputies and told the officers what they were going to find in her purse wasn’t hers.
What they found is described in the arrest report as “a significant amount of methamphetamine,” packaged for resale. Total weight was approximately 10 grams, which, according to the arresting officer, was not consistent with an amount for personal use.
Again denying ownership of the meth, Edwards said the driver, 46-year-old Brett Kearley, gave it to her to hide while deputies were approaching the vehicle.
Edwards was arrested for felony possession of meth; she was placed under $15,000 bond and has a court appearance April 15. Her vehicle was seized and towed to the Cumberland County Justice Center.
Kearley was charged with driving on a revoked license.
