TWO ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES IN RHEA COUNTY
Two people are facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Rhea County yesterday (Wednesday, November 29, 2017). Officers say the vehicle was driven by Robert David White of Saint Clair, Florida. Officers reportedly smelled a very strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and allegedly found approximately 198 grams (7 ounces) of methamphetamine, marijuana, a loaded pistol between the driver’s seat and console and $2,460 in cash. White was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of marijuana for resale, possession of methamphetamine for resale, and unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities. The passenger Alexandra Gail Shifflett of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee was also reportedly in possession of a loaded pistol and several items of drug paraphernalia that were in her bag. Both were transported to the Rhea County Jail. The vehicle and the money were also seized as part of the Tennessee Drug Control Act.
