DRUGS NETTED DURING KINGSTON TRAFFIC STOP
Keen observation from a Roane County Deputy netted several grams of methamphetamine Wednesday night. While performing surveillance on a known drug residence on Spencer Street in Kingston, the officer noted the resident, 21-year-old Dexter Alan Birmley, traveling in a black Chevy Camaro on nearby Kentucky Street. Birmley was verified as driving on a revoked license and a traffic stop was initiated. According to reports, Birmley acted in a nervous manner, and a K-9 Officer hit on possible narcotics inside the car. Birmley reportedly confessed to having meth and a loaded syringe inside the vehicle in a black bag. The bag contained one sandwich bag with meth and three smaller bags with meth weighing 8 grams in all, along with two syringes, and four empty bags. $2000 was found in Birmley’s wallet and $115 separated into different denominations was also found on his person. He was charged with manufacture/delivery/sale of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
