TWO ARRESTED ON VEHICLE THEFT CHARGES
Two individuals are facing vehicle theft charges in Cumberland County. In one case, deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle parked at Claysville United Methodist Church. A check revealed it was reported stolen from a business in Crossville. Officers arrested 35-year-old Scott Curtis Cook of Crossville for theft between $1,000 and $9,999. In the other case, deputies were searching for a stolen 2007 Chevy Impala when one officer spotted it turning onto Rector Road. Deputies say the driver, 38-year-old Tyvaughn Gainey of Crossville, stopped and fled on foot into a wooded area. He was arrested a short time later after falling into a creek. He was charged with theft between $1,000 and $9,999, violation of probation and evading arrest. Both men were transported to the Cumberland County jail.
