TWO ESCAPE INJURY IN ACCIDENT ON I-40

Two drivers escaped injury following a vehicle accident on Interstate 40 in Cumberland County yesterday (Sunday, October 15, 2017). According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2011 Honda Accord driven by 50-year-old Chandrakant Patel of Crossville was entering the interstate from the 317 ramp when he reported failed to yield to and hit a 2014 Hundai Sante Fe operated by Linnet Sapp of Columbia, Missouri. Troopers say Sapps vehicle spun out and went into the guard rail. Both were restrained at the time of the accident. Patel was cited for driving on an expired license and failure to exercise care while driving.
