TWO HOME BURGLARIES REPORTED TUESDAY

Responding to a report of a burglary late Tuesday, deputies arrived at a home on the 2400 block of Brown Creek Drive. According to an official report, the homeowner told officers a safe containing several items was missing from his bedroom. The missing items included a pocket watch, several pocket knives, insulin syringes, a checkbook and miscellaneous medications. He also said three men had been there earlier in the day, purportedly to retrieve items one of them had left at the home. The homeowner had reason to believe one of the suspects entered the bedroom through a rear window and took the safe. Earlier in the day, deputies had taken 33-year-old Phillip Aaron Calley of Crossville into custody. Calley was one of the men named by the homeowner as having been at his home. At the time of his arrest, Calley reportedly had four boxes of syringes and the homeowner’s checkbook in his possession.

Also on Tuesday, a Crab Orchard woman reported her Junior Cox Road home was burglarized sometime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thieves apparently entered through a second-floor window after removing a fan, and stole a variety of items, including a flat-screen TV, various electronics and power tools, jewelry and miscellaneous frozen meats. Total value of items stolen was in excess of $4,100. Deputies are seeking two suspects.
