TWO MEN FROM OLIVER SPRINGS ARRESTED AFTER HIGH SPEED CHASE

Two men from Oliver Springs was arrested yesterday (Monday, June 12, 2017) following a high-speed chase with law enforcement. According to the arrest report, officers spotted a vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit on Oliver Springs Highway. As the deputy turned around to attempt to stop the vehicle, he lost sight of it. The suspected vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Braxton Woods, was later seen traveling on Sulphur Springs Road. Officers initiated their lights to pull Woods over but Woods allegedly pulled away and turned left on Broad Street in Clinton. Woods vehicle went airborne as it went over a railroad crossing and landed hard before continuing on to School Street. Woods was stopped by law enforcement afterwards. Woods and a passenger in the vehicle, Khole Fritz, complied with officers instructions to get out of the car and surrender. A check revealed a probation violation out of Morgan County on Fritz. A search of Woods allegedly revealed two small bags allegedly containing a crystal substance. Woods was charged with felony evading, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, possessing a counterfeit controlled substance and speeding. He was also cited for not having a valid driver’s license.
