TWO OF THREE STUDENTS IN MORGAN COUNTY FACING CHARGES AFTER THREATS MADE

Two of three juveniles are facing charges in Morgan County after making threatening statements in separate school incidents. Officials say the three students ranged in age from 10 to 14 years old. One student was sent for an evaluation, one will appear in juvenile court and the third was not charged being the child was in special education. One of the schools involved, Central Middle School in Wartburg, was placed on lockdown recently during one of the threats posted on social media. School officials encouraged any student to come forward with any concerns they might have or threats they are aware of. Any student found making threats to any school system will face charges and could possibly be charged as an adult depending on the juveniles age and the severity of the threat.
