TWO STATE OF THE ART FIRE TRUCKS TO BE DELIVERED SOON TO CROSSVILLE

Crossville fire officials are in Appleton, Wisconsin today performing final inspections of two new trucks recently purchased. Deputy Chief Chris South told 105.7 News today by phone “the capabilities of the new pumper and the ladder truck are amazing and beyond what the city has ever had.”

The current ladder truck the Crossville Fire Department uses has a maximum reach of 75 foot. The new truck will provide a maximum ladder expansion to 107 foot.

We have spent about 9 hours a day up here covering every square inch of the trucks to make sure it meets requirements and expectations. The City of Crossville will be well pleased with these two magnificent trucks when we get them home,” said Fire Chief Mike Turner.

The new fire trucks are the pride of Pierce Manufacturing. Both trucks will be taken this afternoon to Lambeau Field in nearby Green Bay for a promotional photo shoot. The two trucks will also be featured with one more at the Fire House Expo from October 15-17, 2018 in Nashville. Once the expo is over, the trucks will come home to Crossville.

The Insurance Service Office or ISO rating could be affected in a positive way by the addition of the new ladder and pumper trucks to Crossville. The ISO is an organization that provides statistical information on fire risk. For many years the ISO rating had a large impact on most fire departments. The ISO rating scale is from 1 to 10 with 1 being the best. Almost all home insurance companies calculated rates based upon the ISO rating. Crossville’s current ISO rating is a 3. The lower the rating, the better the payments for fire insurance.

Chief Turner added, “We want to thank Mayor James Mayberry, City Manager Greg Wood and the entire Crossville City Council for making this purchase possible.”
