UNKNOWN MALE REPORTEDLY TRIES TO LURE CHILDREN INTO WOODED AREA NEXT TO AMPHITHEATER IN CROSSVILLE

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department has set up extra patrols in the area of the city amphitheater after four female elementary students claimed an unknown male was trying to lure them into a wooded area behind the amphitheater. The students were visiting the amphitheater area when the incidents took place. According to the report released today, the first recent altercation involved a man that was “homeless looking with long shoulder length gray hair with a full white beard, wearing a brown t-shirt and jeans.” The man was waiving in a motion to have the two come with him back into the woods. He then disappeared. The second incident happened just before Halloween when two sisters encountered the same situation. A similar description was given of the man but this time he walked with a limp. If you see someone of this description in this area, call either the Crossville Police Department at (931) 484-7231 or Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department at (931) 484-6176.
