UPDATE: PILOT IN CRASH AT COLLEGEDALE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT IDENTIFIED

The pilot killed in the crash of an experimental one-seater plane at the Collegedale Municipal Airport in Hamilton County Friday (April 20, 2018) has been identified. Officials say 62-year-old Robert Gillisse of Ooltewah frequently used the Collegedale airport. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Federal Aviation Administration investigators are trying to determine what went wrong with the aircraft, an amateur-built Kolb Mark III.
