Early this morning, Roane County deputies responded to a home on the 100 block of Evans Heights to assist Rockwood police with a disturbance. Officers encountered 42-year-old Christopher Vanpatten who reportedly refused to stay in a seated position for authorities and attempted to run. Vanpatten was tased with no effect as one probe missed him and the other hit his wallet. He was eventually arrested and charged with resisting arrest.
