VEC WARNING CUSTOMERS OF PHONE SCAM CALLS
Volunteer Energy Cooperative (VEC) has recently received a high volume of phone scam reports in which the scam caller is aggressive and threatens to disconnect electricity if the member does not give payment information or does not pay through gift cards.
This is a fraudulent call.
If you receive it, hang up and contact your local service center to verify the status of your account.
The fraudulent number the scammer wants members to call is (844) 205-8717.
Remember, VEC offices will never call threatening to disconnect or demanding an immediate payment.
