VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE VISITS BRADLEY COUNTY

Vice President Mike Pence used his visit to Bradley County, Tennessee, yesterday to praise the conservative credentials of two Republican congresswomen who are running for statewide office.

In a speech at Lee University, Pence referred to Rep. Marsha Blackburn as a “tireless, principled” leader and a “strong partner” to President Donald Trump’s administration. Blackburn is the leading GOP candidate for the seat being vacated by retiring U.S. Sen. Bob Corker. Blackburn faces a tough fall campaign against Democrat Phil Bredesen.

Pence praised Rep. Diane Black for her support of lower taxes and efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, a healthcare law commonly known as Obamacare. Pence also called Black a “champion for life” for her anti-abortion stand. Black is in a crowded field of Republican candidates running for governor.
