WOMAN CHARGED WITH FATAL STABBING

A Sequatchie County man was fatally stabbed last night (Tuesday, October 17, 2017) at a Branch Road residence. Officers say the victim, 61-year-old John Wayne Sanders, called 911 saying he had been stabbed in the upper abdomen. Deputies arrived to find Sanders’ wife, 44-year-old Jerri Lynn Sanders, outside of the home. Lifeforce was dispatched to the area to fly John Wayne Sanders to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga where he later passed away from injuries sustained. Investigators say after Sanders was stabbed, his wife cleaned the knife off and put it back in the sink. The couple reportedly were arguing prior to the altercation. Officers say Jerri Sanders was already on probation for stabbing her husband a few months ago. She is charged with criminal homicide.
