WORLD SOFTBALL LEAGUE HONORS CENTENNIAL PARK AS PARK OF THE YEAR
Centennial Park in Crossville has been designated as the World Softball League’s Park of the Year for 2018. The Park of the Year award is chosen by WSL directors based on facility maintenance and appearance, as well as attitude and professionalism of personnel.
WSL State of Tennessee Chief Administrator Edward Bradley will present the award during the upcoming Tennessee Directors and Umpires Meeting.
“Crossville Parks worked so hard and diligently for WSL in 2018, especially in our rain-soaked State Tournament,” Bradley said. “From the administration to the grounds crew, these guys and gals are true professionals. They deserve this honor as WSL Park of the Year and we look forward to our relationship into 2019 and beyond.”
Crossville Parks & Recreation Director Tammie French expressed her department’s excitement over the award. “It is an honor and privilege to have such an outstanding facility to work with and an amazing staff that keeps everything running smoothly. WSL is a staple in our tournament lineup. They have professional staff members and competitive teams,” she said.
WSL is active in 18 states, playing men’s, women’s and co-ed softball. The 2019 WSL State Tournament will again be held at Centennial Park July 5, 6 and 7, 2019.
