Tuesday, state lawmakers convened the 110^th Tennessee General Assembly. During the session, State Se. Randy McNally of Oak Ridge was the Republican nominee to succeed Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey, who did not run for re-election. House Republicans nominated Speaker Beth Harwell to a fourth term as Speaker. To finish the first day of the new session, members held a moment of silence for those students who died in the Woodmore Elementary School bus crash in November.
