CUMBERLAND COUNTY BOE GIVES SEVERAL RECOGNITIONS AT MONTHLY MEETING

Several recipients were recognized at Thursday night’s Cumberland County School Board meeting. Grace O’Connor opened up the presentations with a recital of her Constitution Week winning essay. Jaxon Wooten was recognized as placing third in the state at the Elementary Level, for the Youth Art Month National Flag Design Contest. And three Cumberland County High School students, Alex Tabor, Dakish Dawaldi and Jacob Grenga, were presented awards for placing First in the Tennessee Stock Market Game. Director of Schools Janet Graham then presented awards to the District teachers of the Year. Winning for K-4 Grade was Ellen Carroll of North Cumberland. Winning for 5-8 Grade was Jeff Smith of Martin Elementary. And winning for 9-12 Grade was Carol Smith of Stone Memorial High School. The recognition portion of the meeting was closed out when Tennessee School Board Association member Regina Waller presented the Cumberland County Board of Education with the prestigious Board of Distinction Award.
