TWO ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES AFTER TRAFFIC STOP – ONE ADULT, ONE JUVENILE

Late Friday night, Cumberland County deputies stopped a vehicle on Osage Road in Tansi for having an improperly displayed tag. When asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, the passenger, 20-year-old Daisie Anna Mayse of Crossville, said yes and handed deputies her purse, giving consent to search it. Inside they found approximately 17 grams of marijuana, which Mayse and the 17-year-old driver admitted to purchasing with their combined funds.

On inspection of the vehicle tag, it was discovered to be a photocopy of a generic tag. Mayse said she has a “friend” who prints them for her.

Mayse was charged with manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance and criminal simulation; she was placed under $8,500 bond. The minor was charged with manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance and taken to the juvenile detention center. She was also issued a citation for traffic offenses. Mayse is due in court March 18.
