MAN DIES AFTER BEING FOUND UNRESPONSIVE IN HOT TUB

Cumberland County EMS was dispatched to a residence off Hamlet Circle on March 26th in response to a 62-year-old male found unresponsive in a hot tub.

A woman told authorities that she and her husband were in the hot tub and she had gotten out and gone inside. Approximately 15-20 minutes later, she stated she had become worried because he had not come inside yet. When she went out to check on him, she found the male in the hot tub facedown with his head underwater. She told authorities he had been drinking alcohol earlier but was unsure of how much. When she was asked if he had any medical conditions, she told them he has hypertension which he takes medicine for.

However, when officials arrived, a deputy observed the male unresponsive in a sitting position with his arms resting on the top of the tub. His head was above water. However, according to information received from dispatch, when the woman found him, his head was allegedly underwater and she pulled him but was unable to get him out of the tub.

CPR was immediately started on the male subject and he was then transported for further treatment. He was later pronounced dead by the ER doctor.

Investigators are asking for an autopsy.
