ROANE COUNTY PARK ENTRANCE RENAMED IN HONOR OF “SUPER JACK”

On Saturday morning, a large gathering of family, friends, and political leaders attended a ceremony at Roane County Park to unveil a new sign dedicating the park’s entrance as “Super Jack Way.” The name honors Jack Samuel Smith Sexton, who passed away before age six after battling cancer.
Jack loved visiting the park, according to his mother, Ariel Smith, a secretary at the county clerk’s office. Ariel and Jack’s father, Tyler Sexton, attended the event and posed for photos with county and park staff.
County Commissioner Ron Berry led the ceremony, with remarks from County Executive Wade Creswell, who said dedicating the entrance was a fitting tribute to Jack. Jack’s parents expressed gratitude to everyone involved.
Following the dedication, a reception was held at the park cottage, where attendees shared memories of Jack, whose legacy will endure through the sign.
