An elderly man was flown to a Knoxville hospital on Monday evening following a serious tractor accident just east of Rockwood.

Emergency crews responded to the scene near the 100 block of Winters Loop Road, where the man, identified as being in his 70s, had been operating a tractor when the incident occurred.

Due to the severity of the situation, first responders quickly transported the victim by ambulance to the Midtown Helipad. From there, he was airlifted via medical helicopter to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for urgent treatment.

Officials have not yet released the cause of the accident, and the full extent of the man’s injuries remains unknown at this time.
