PUTNAM COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT QUICKLY CONTAINS DOBBS CEMETERY ROAD STRUCTURE FIRE
Quick action by the Putnam County Fire Department prevented total devastation on Saturday night, August 8, 2026, after a residential structure fire broke out on Dobbs Cemetery Road.
At approximately 7:55 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the scene, arriving to find smoke billowing from an A-frame style home. Firefighters immediately deployed two crews to launch an aggressive interior attack.
The primary seat of the blaze was rapidly located on the second story. A secondary crew quickly tracked and tackled flames that had extended downward to the first floor. Thanks to the coordinated response, the bulk of the fire was successfully contained to the room of origin, sparing the rest of the residence from severe destruction.
No injuries were reported among residents or responding personnel.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Putnam County Fire Department expressed gratitude to all responding crews and personnel who aided in resolving the incident.
