A 32-year-old local man was taken into custody late Tuesday evening following a foot chase, a brief standoff inside a residence, and an attempt to flee from law enforcement on Oswego Road.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 3000 block of Oswego Road on August 12, 2026, after receiving a Crimestoppers tip regarding the whereabouts of Dusten Braden. Authorities confirmed that Braden had an active, hard-copy warrant for Violation of Probation (General Sessions).

When deputies arrived at 3240 Oswego Road and knocked on the door, individuals inside locked the entryways while officers heard footsteps running through the house. After several minutes, a resident opened the door and allowed deputies to enter, repeatedly claiming that Braden was not inside.

Officers searched the residence and located Braden hiding underneath a living room couch. He was ordered out at gunpoint and taken into custody.

As deputies escorted him out of the home, Braden attempted to walk away from officers. When Sgt. Griffin and Deputy Early moved to secure him, Braden fell on the front porch and became belligerent. He was subsequently carried to a patrol vehicle and transported to the intake facility without further incident.

In addition to his active probation violation warrant, Braden was officially charged with Evading Arrest. He was booked into custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 13, 2026, and an additional $5,000 bond set for the new evading charge.
